Description

Podere Grande of Colle Ramole, as it was then called Villa Rinascimento, was a special place where the great and renowned Ghirlandaio family, between the fifteenth and the fifteenth century, loved to meet and meet, far from the hectic life of Renaissance Florence.
Here, as in a small Tuscan village, around the villa there are other fascinating places that still preserve the charm of yesterday: the Locanda, the Fattoria and the Bottega, but also the Studio and the Frantoio.

The Villa consists of several bodies: the main Villa, the Fattoria, the Bottega, the Frantoiano and the Studio.

The villa is the main building of the Dimora. The villa is a 3 storey high building and has 5 comfortable rooms, each with its own bathroom. On the ground floor there is a large living room, a bookshop, a spacious dining room (can host up to 12 people) and a large kitchen. The finishes of these spaces are of the highest level, with refined parquet or two-tone floors in bardiglio stone and white marble. The walls are characterized by warm pastel colors and embellished with refined trompe-l'œil that recall geometric profiles and moldings, the same as the coffered ceiling of the rooms on this floor.
On the ground floor there is the first bedroom: double bedroom connected to two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other a bathroom. The other rooms are located on the upper floors: three bedrooms are on the second floor, two of which are doubles, each with a bathroom with a shower and a double with a bathroom with a bathtub. The bedrooms are therefore equipped with their own bathroom, covered in precious marble and windows that open towards the park and the surrounding landscape. Here the walls are white lime while the floor is in parquet of antique oak planks, a feature that makes each room different. Finally, the fifth bedroom is on the third floor, in the ancient dovecote: it is a double bedroom with bathroom with shower. One of its windows frames the Certosa of Florence, while, in the distance, the Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore stands out. The outdoor spaces are large and made in continuity with the interior spaces. Ideal to share convivial moments thanks to the presence of a barbecue and a small wood-burning oven. Finally, the annex of the Villa, the one that was the old lemon house, includes another bedroom. All rooms in the Villa have king or twin beds.

The Fattoria, a building next to the Villa, represents with it the original nucleus of the Villa Rinascimento. From here it is possible to access the chapel privately.
The style of the farm is certainly more rustic than that of the Villa: simple white lime plasters, stone floors, moldings, like the stairway handrail, in serene stone; a large fireplace carved in a simple manner, in strong stone. The Fattoria includes 4 double bedrooms, the marble bathrooms have a shower.

Opposite the farm is the Bottega, the apartment that has retained its typically Tuscan 'farmhouse' characteristics: terracotta floor, stone fireplace, exposed wood beams in unpainted wood. In addition to the large living room for living and dining and a functional kitchen, this apartment has two bedrooms, one double bedroom with bathroom with shower and a double room with bathroom with tub, each with private wardrobe. From the windows, as well as from the private garden, in the background the Cathedral of Florence appears in all its beauty.

The Studio, distributed over three floors, has a large living area on the ground floor where an ancient stone fireplace warms up the living room and the dining area. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin and two bathrooms with shower. The large master bedroom is also accessible directly from the garden through a small staircase on the façade, with the steps in pietra serena and the wrought iron railing. On the second floor there are two other bedrooms, one double and one single and a bathroom with shower. Like the other apartments, the Studio also has its own private garden.

Adjacent to the Studio is one of the largest apartments in the complex, the Frantoio. A living area, on the ground floor, is in continuity with the exterior thanks to a loggia with two arches (from which you access the apartment) to the garden and an open court, but collected and reserved, in the middle of the apartment. The entrance hall will welcome you with the warmth of refined finishes, such as the floor made of chestnut planks, the whitewashed walls, the ancient fireplace in strong stone and the finishes in pietra serena. Passing to the adjacent hall that houses the great room, you will be impressed by the breadth and harmoniousness of the spaces that also open up to the private inner courtyard where the masonry oven is located. On the court there are two other rooms, a bedroom and a study, isolated from the rest of the house. The bedrooms are in total 4: three bedrooms, one double, one double and one single are located on the first floor of the apartment. The double and single rooms have a bathroom with a shared shower, while the double bedroom has its own bathroom with shower. The last room is located in the annexe: it is a double room with private bathroom with shower.

The Villa Rinascimento also offers wellness and body and mind care services. Located in the basement, below the Villa, there is the SPA, an extremely suggestive place with stone walls and a charming brick barrel vault. In the SPA you can follow some paths aimed at wellness and psychophysical regeneration: emotional shower with chromotherapy, sauna, turkish bath, whirlpool tub; but also a small gym and a room for relaxing or invigorating massages.

For those who love swimming or for those who want to relax comfortably under the Tuscan sun, in the park of the Dimora there is a large and enchanting pool of 120 square meters. Surrounded by the meadow, among olive trees and fruit trees, this is characterized by an elongated and particular shape with in the center two small islands that house two orange trees for an extremely unique and fascinating setting.

In the building that was once the old barn is La Locanda, the restaurant of the Villa. This place recalls the original convivial spirit of this residence. In front of the Locanda there is a garden where there are some tables to allow guests to have breakfast or simply relax tasting a good wine or sipping a good espresso while reading the newspaper or chatting with friends, old and new. Cooked with selected ingredients of the highest quality including vegetables from our garden and olive oil from our olive grove, the dishes created by our talented Chefs will delight even the most demanding and refined palates.

There is a special vegetable garden where you can find first quality vegetables, strictly organic and where you can choose vegetables and aromas to bring to the kitchen following the rhythm of the seasons. Designed and created not only for a 0 km kitchen, but also for cooking class activities, Dimora's vegetable garden allows the cultivation of raw materials for the creation of dishes with a unique and authentic flavor.
