Radda in Chianti (Chianti)
Borgo Perla del Chianti is a magical place. Dating back to the 13th century, it has been recently restored with love and passion, it wanted and knew how to restore the splendor, simplicity and quality of rural life of the past to the Borgo. The owners have been able to recreate a magical atmosphere of "home away from home" in the heart of Chianti. The glimpses that the Borgo offers to its visitors and the panorama that can be admired from the windows of the old houses, each still characterized by the name of the last family who lived there, are breathtaking.
Over the centuries the village has lost its original military connotation to become a small peasant village inhabited by 14 families until the early 50s of the last century. Today it presents itself as an exclusive relais of 28 deluxe rooms and suites, each one different from the other, furnished with an elegant but welcoming style in which the original authenticity of the places has been deliberately preserved so that the genuine beauty of the place is kept intact. Inside the structure there is a daily staff and the use of the professional kitchen is possible only by the internal staff.
Borgo Perla del Chianti is perched on the top of a green hill, at 600 meters above sea level, overlooking the historic village of Radda in Chianti and the valley, not surprisingly called, the Conca d'Oro del Chianti. The vineyards and centuries-old olive trees surrounding the village are cultivated on ancient terraces bordered by dry stone walls, now registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The festive swallows are the alarm clock for the guests, the scent of the lavenders is their good morning. Here the butterflies are the inevitable protagonists of the summer mornings, they are so present that those who live in the village will recognize it as Il Borgo delle farfalle. The days pass in absolute freedom and in harmony with nature between walks among the olive trees and moments of relaxation in the many corners of the garden or by the pool.
As in the past, the aperitif is a moment of aggregation and is served in the Piazzetta del Borgo where once a week the guests relive a convivial evening that recalls the typical village festival that once, during the special holidays, organized the inhabitants of the Borgo also recalling the families of the district. After the aperitif, guests will be welcomed for dinner at the Borgo restaurant in the old banquet hall or, on warmer evenings, outdoors among the ancient olive trees.
