Alps

Already from the plains, proceeding towards the heart of Piedmont, the coherence of the region's name is apparent: you are actually at the foot of the mountains, many mountains that stand out on the horizon, tall and severe, with solid and imposing forms, almost always with snow caps.

But it is by climbing up to the ridges that the picture becomes stunning, with a top-of-the-world landscape of tangible beauty, sweeping and spectacular views, strong people speaking an Alpine language with an inflection marked at times by Occitan and French sounds.
